ITINERARY: Day 1- Late evening departure from Miami for Lima, Peru. Day 2- Early morning arrival in Lima. Check into our hotel. Afternoon tour of Lima, including the Church of African St. Martin De Porres, Rafael Herrera Archaeological Museum and National Anthropology Museum. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Lima. Day 3- From Lima tour the historic Afro-Peruvian communities in and around El Carmen and Chincha along the south coasts of Peru. Lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight in Lima. Day 4- Fly from Lima to Cuzco. Arrival in Cuzco and journey to the Sacred Valley. Lecture by Dr. Rashidi. Either lunch or dinner. Overnight in the Sacred Valley high in the Andes Mountains. Day 5- Visit the Sacred Valley, village, market, and exquisite ruins of Ollantaytambo where the Inkas inflicted a mighty defeat on the Spanish army. Lunch and overnight in the Sacred Valley. Day 6- Take an early morning train ride through the magnificent Urubama Valley to Machu Pichu. Visit Machu Pichu--South America's number one travel destination. Continue your train ride to Cuzco. Overnight in Cuzco. Day 7- City tour of beautiful and historic Cuzco, and visit the monumental ruins, including the incomparable Sacsayhuaman. Lecture by Dr. Rashidi. Overnight in Cuzco. Day 8- Beautiful all day drive from Cuzco to Puno with stops and lunch along the way. Overnight in Puno. Day 9- Visit Lake Titicaca, Travel to the Aymara Reed Islands and other islands aboard a speed boat. Lunch on one of the islands. Lecture on the boat or island by Dr. Rashidi. Overnight in Puno.
